A padlock you can trust at a glance.
The Krodium Engine brings years of security work: a clear padlock for sites that use an encrypted connection, warnings when a connection is not secure, and checks on downloads that look risky.

Security
In detail.
A clear padlock
Sites on an encrypted HTTPS connection show a padlock beside the address. Sites that are not encrypted are marked, so you can tell the difference without reading a certificate.
HTTPS first
The engine can upgrade connections to HTTPS and warn you before loading a page that only offers an insecure one. You can read how it works in the help centre.
Safer downloads
The engine's built-in protections warn you about downloads and sites it recognises as dangerous or deceptive.
Sandboxed pages
Web pages run in separate, restricted processes, so a problem in one page is much harder to spread to the rest of your Mac.
Report a vulnerability
Found a problem? Our disclosure policy explains how to tell us, and what you can expect from us in return.
Good to know
Krodium is a young browser. Security fixes to the engine are brought into Krodium as new builds, and we publish each one in the release notes.
