When search suggestions are on, what you type in the address bar is sent to your chosen search engine, so it can suggest searches as you type.
- Open Settings, then choose Search.
- Choose your default search engine for the address bar.
- Switch search suggestions off if you would rather nothing is sent while you type.
With suggestions off, a search is sent only when you press Return.
